Block Party on East Second St. – Sept. 9
Scotch Plains Township
As Scotch Plains continues to highlight its many great businesses in town, all residents are invited to the inaugural East Second Street block party, featuring a car show, set for Saturday, September 9, 2023.
This event (with a rain date of Sunday, September 10) will shine a spotlight on all of the great products and services, as well as tasty delights, that are offered along the business corridor. With many new residents moving to town in recent years, this event is the perfect way in which to showcase local businesses to a whole new market.
There is no cost for businesses to participate in the block party. Merchants will put out racks of merchandise for sale and service providers will offer free demonstrations. Restaurants and other eateries will develop block party “specials” to further entice customers, as well as to offer free tastings.
Scotch Plains will be providing police and DPW services for the event. East Second Street will be closed between Park and Hunter avenues, as participants take to the streets to enjoy the car show and get to know local merchants.
“We are eager and excited to promote the East Second Street corridor during what we hope will become an annual fall event,” said Mayor Josh Losardo. “Please join us in making this event an amazing success for now and for years to come.”
