Submitted by Laura Cheshire

Green Brook would like to congratulate Dylan Kishor Vaidya for earning the rank of Eagle Scout in Green Brook Troop 129 on February 23, 2021. Dylan began his scouting career in first grade, learned many skills and gained valuable experiences on the path to Eagle Scout. Dylan has proven himself a leader as Senior Patrol Leader and attended National Youth Leadership Training.

Dylan’s Eagle Service Project was to benefit Fish Inc of Piscataway, NJ. Fish is a service organization of volunteers who respond to the needs of the poor, the eldery and homeless. Their major programs include a food bank, clothing, bedding needs, holiday meals and Christmas toys. Dylan led his Scout Troop in improving the landscaping and aesthetics of Fish’s grounds including removing old asphalt and reconstructing a new concrete walkway. Additionally they planted shrubs and grass and made the area safer for guests along with improving the look of the facility.

While attending Watchung Hills Regional High School Dylan has focused on a possible career path in Engineering while taking AP courses, Scouts, Robotics Club and maintaining a part time job. Dylan will continue with the Boy Scout Troop including a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch this summer. Philmont is a challenging 12 day trek between 50-100 miles while hiking, camping and backpacking in New Mexico. We wish Dylan the best to his future successes.
