New Providence resident and teacher Dr. Keith Mason has published an article in the October 2016 issue of School Band and Orchestra. The article marks the fiftieth anniversary of two television specials: “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” The article provides background about Charles M. Schulz, Peanuts creator, and Dr. Seuss, author of the original “Grinch” book. The article suggests classroom activities and may be accessed on line at sbomagazine.com. Dr. Mason recently joined Camp Broadway as a curriculum consultant and study guide author for digital materials aligned to Broadway musicals and plays. He enjoys using popular culture icons to inspire classroom learning.
