The Township of Union held their first annual Earth Day celebration. As a part of the event they held a waterway cleanup, a seedling giveaway and tree planting demonstration, tours of the community garden and a screening of the environmental documentary, “The 11th Hour.”
According to Mayor Suzette Cavadas, volunteers pulled some incredible items out of the waterways including a downed light post, shopping carts, old tires, and even a car bumper. Photographed is Mayor Suzette Cavadas with volunteers.
