James Gannon will give a talk entitled “Demystifying the Enigma” on Monday, June 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cranford Community Center, located at 220 Walnut Avenue. The Enigma Machine, a code breaking device used by British intelligence during World War II, provided critical information to the Allied forces that helped hasten the end of the war. The machine was the subject of a very popular recent film entitled The Imitation Game. Mr. Gannon, a former writer and producer at NBC News, has published four books, including Stealing Secrets, Telling Lies: How Spies and Codebreakers Helped Shape the Twentieth Century (2001). Admission to the program is free and all are welcome.
