The David Brearley Theater Department is bringing the award-winning Broadway musical, Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA to the stage. This spellbinding, romantic pop/rock musical will be performed at the high school April 15 at 7:00pm and April 16 at 1:00pm & 7:00pm. David Brearley is located at 401 Monroe Avenue in Kenilworth, NJ.
Winner of four Tony Awards, Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA, is set in ancient Egypt and depicts the story of an enslaved Nubian princess, her conflicted Egyptian captor, and a forbidden love that rocks the ancient world to its core.
The cast features many of Kenilworth, Linden, Elizabeth, and Roselle’s finest musical theater talent including:
Chelsea Anderson, Kayla Bliss, Desiree Ellison, Kennedy Ferruggia, Sophia Fiorito, Matthew Francis, Andrea Gaines, John Hartmann, Gianna Larosa, Adela Llagami, Lia Marabella, Angel Owens, Alex Power, Sarah Raber, David Rei, Gianna Sacca, Pedro Shimazu, Vanessa Sierra, Jorge Soto, Melody Stubbs, Summer Wrenn, and Jenna Zimmerman.
The musical is directed and choreographed by Lauren Widner, with musical direction by Anthony LaBruno and designed by Cheryl Widner. Tickets are $8 at the door.
