Daisy Girl scout Troop 40710 of Hehnley School, Clark have been working on earning their Petal “Respect Authority” by working on the Project “Blue Lives Matter”.
The Kindergarten students have been earning their “petals” toward becoming a Daisy. The first petal they earned for the year was the Gerri Petal, learning how to respect authority. We chose to focus on helping our community, that being said we did our service project for the Clark Police Department. At a recent meeting each girl was busy filling paper bags for our “Survival Kit for Law Enforcement”. The kits include lifesavers, smarties, Hershey Kisses, gum, Tootsie Roll, Peppermint Patty, Mounds, and Laffy Taffy and were placed into bags totaling 43 bags! We were busy bees!
Each of our parents signed up to purchase “Lunch” for the officers, which included soda, chips, fruit, paper products. Two sandwich platters were donated by our ShopRite of Clark! At one meeting Officer Brain Sous spoke to the girls on topics about stranger danger, medication, and 911.
