Curbside Recycling Begins in Fanwood–for the first time ever, residents of Fanwood placed co-mingled household recyclables into blue containers for curbside pickup under a recent shared services agreement between Fanwood and the Plainfield Municipal Utilities Authority. The first day of pick-up, October 8th, collected almost 42 tons of recyclables. Collections will occur every other Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Borough will operate its recycling center one Saturday morning per month to allow residents to recycle electronics, clothing, motor oil, scrap metal, damaged American flags and fluorescent light bulbs.
