Over 70 Scouts and adults from Cranford’s Cub Scout Pack 103 of the First Presbyterian Church hiked the Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area in Montville, NJ on Saturday, November 28th.
The annual event is planned on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend as the scout families work off the extra calories from their delicious holiday dinners. The final destination of the 2.6 mile and 300 feet vertical climb is Tripod Rock, which is a 160-ton boulder balanced atop three smaller rocks, known as a glacial erratic. Pack 103 currently has approximately 140 scouts, and they are looking forward to a fun filled program over the next few months.
Some of the upcoming events include the Pinewood Derby, Skate Night at South Mountain Arena and a sleepover at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.
