The Real James Bond

Did you know there really was a James Bond? He wasn’t a spy like in the novels and movies, but an American ornithologist who was a published author and expert on birds of the Caribbean. Join lecturer, author and bird expert Jim Wright for this fascinating presentation about the real James Bond and learn how Ian Fleming came to use Bond’s name for his iconic character! Wright is the author of “The Real James Bond: A True Story of Identity Theft, Avian Intrigue & Ian Fleming.” Sponsored by the Friends of the Cranford Public Library. New Monthly Films

Our monthly film screenings are back! Join us the first Wednesday of the month at the Cranford Community Center for an evening movie! We will be showing movies recently released on DVD. Please contact the library for specific film titles. No registration is required.

Trivia Night

Art in the Park, Hanson Park: Natural Dyeing

Dye fabrics using natural materials! Join us at Hanson Park from 11am-12pm for our first ever Art in the Park. This event is for people of all ages: children, teens, and adults!

Nature Photography for Everyone: Union County Edition
Monday, November 7 at 7 p.m.
No matter what kind of camera you have, you can learn how and where to take beautiful nature photos close to home. Union County photographer Jacki Dickert will share local spots for finding interesting wildlife and lovely scenery, best practices for photographing animals and landscapes, and tips for creating compelling compositions. Winter Sowing Workshop

Join us at the Cranford Community Center to learn the basics of starting native annual and perennial seeds in the winter. This lecture is part of our Native Seed programming lineup. Literary Cafe
Saturday, November 12 at 10:15 a.m.
Literary Café is a book chat program. The format is simple: Bring a few of your recent favorite books and tell the other members of the group what you like about them. If you don’t have a copy of the book you want to talk about, that’s okay, too. The books can be new or old, fiction or non-fiction, classic or contemporary. There is no required reading, and you will have the opportunity to learn about books recommended by other group members. Attend as many sessions as you’d like. Admission is free and all are welcome. Patrons are welcome to join us in the Cranford Public Library’s Raddin Room or online.

International Film Screening
