Cranford Girl Scouts Annual Tree Decorating Event

On Nov. 25th, Cranford Brownie Troop 40013 organized and hosted the Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadets, Seniors & Ambassadors of Cranford in decorating the Holiday Tree located in Mayor’s Park on the corner of Springfield and North Union Avenues. Over 33 troops and over 300 girls participated in the annual event, sponsored by the Cranford Chamber of Commerce.
Hundreds of girl scouts created individual ornaments to hang on the festive tree, a tradition that spans decades. The event kicked-off with a vocal performance of the National Anthem by Abigail Kelly, a Junior Girl Scout from Troop 40753. The tree decorating ceremony precedes the Chamber of Commerce’s tree lighting ceremony which took place that evening.
“Our troop has been honored with organizing and hosting the decorating ceremony for the past two years,” said Elayna Torsone, Leader of Troop 40013. “The girls love to be involved in such a festive community activity and it has taught them responsibility and commitment, two very important qualities instilled in all girl scouts.”
