Local nonprofit to hold Walk-a-Thon to raise funds for people with disabilities and at-risk youth
Community Access Unlimited (CAU) will hold its Annual Ira Geller Memorial Walk-a-Thon Saturday, September 14th 2019, at Oak Ridge Park in Clark to raise funds for programs and services that support people with disabilities and at-risk youth.
CAU is a Union County-based, statewide nonprofit that strives to integrate people with disabilities and at-risk youth into the general community through comprehensive supports.
Registration begins at 11 a.m., with the walk starting at 12 p.m. A picnic will follow at 12:30 p.m. The day also includes family-friendly games, prizes, activities and music.
Pre-registration is not required but suggested. CAU welcomes individuals as well as teams from local businesses and community organizations to participate. CAU’s annual Walk-a-Thon is named in memory of Ira Geller, a CAU member who worked tirelessly to raise funds for the agency and its support and services for people with disabilities and his commitment to people with special needs.
