A Columbus Day ‘fiesta’ will take place at the De Corso Community Center in New Providence on Sunday October 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. The celebration is the first event jointly sponsored by the diversity committee of the town and the Italian language students from the senior center where a class is offered free every Tuesday afternoon throughout the year. It will be a pot luck supper with those attending invited to bring their favorite Italian dish to serve 6. Entertainment will follow the dinner. It will include an Italian art slide presentation, Italian songs, and music. All ending with be invited to join in joyful dancing, which will include the Tarantella.
