College Club of F-SP is hosting the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo – February 24
Come celebrate the roaring 20’s with the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo on February 24, 2020, 7 p.m., at the Fanwood Presbyterian Church, 74 Martine Avenue, Fanwood (around the back at the McDermott Street entrance). The program is sponsored by the College Club of Fanwood-Scotch Plains. This lively and entertaining program is free and open to the public. The Florian Schantz Jazz Combo who specializes in thematic historical musical programs with informational narrative will be featuring the music that put the “roar” in the roaring 20’s. Come witness the revival of the one true American art form in its purest form during its heyday. The program is suitable for all ages.
The band has performed over 65 library programs across the tri-state area as well as numerous historical societies and hundreds of other venues. The combo is led by a 17 year old professional trumpet player, Florian Schantz, who started the band at age 9 and has performed over 470 engagements across NJ, NY, CT, PA and Germany. Also appearing in the band are Rup Chattopadhyay on trombone, Margaret Schantz on Flugelhorn and Lowell Schantz on guitar.
