Colin Summers – Westfield High School Class of 2021 and Fairfield University golf commit – has been named Boys Golf Player of the Year for New Jersey by USA Today.

Among the top performing high school golfers across the country, Colin joins other nominees – one from each state – to be considered for the national Boys Golfer of the Year Award, which will be announced at the inaugural USA Today High School Sports Awards on August 5 at 8 p.m.  The on-demand streaming show will bring together some of the biggest names in professional sports and will be free to watch at sportsawards.usatoday.com.

“Colin epitomizes the role of a captain and leader. He is always the positive voice on the course, on the bus, and in team meetings,” says Westfield High School Supervisor of Athletics Sandra Mamary. “Colin presents himself with confidence and maturity. His knowledge of the game and how to approach each golf course is impressive. I wish him well as he continues to compete at the next level.”
