Clark UNICO celebrated the feast of St. Joseph by hosting a dinner at Café Gallo, located on Inman Ave. in Edison, NJ, complete with all the Italian traditions of the La Tavola di San Giuseppe – St. Joseph’s Table. Tradition has it, centuries ago, villagers prayed to Saint Joseph during a famine in Sicily. After the dreadful famine ended they held a feast of Thanksgiving to commemorate the saint thus starting the celebration of this tradition. At the Clark celebration, a five-course meal was prepared by the chef’s at Café Gallo complete with Fava beans, antipasto, symbolic breads, pastas and of course the famous St. Josephs zeppole.
