Clark Public School District’s Parent University Hosts Parent & Child Nutrition Night

The Clark Public School District recently hosted Parent & Child Nutrition Night with Clark ShopRite’s Registered Dietitian Lauren Faiella. The night began with a discussion about healthy eating habits. Faiella showed attendees what a healthy meal should consist of including dairy, grains, protein, and fruits/vegetables. Participants then made a healthy snack, Lunchbox Turkey Sushi. Parents and children asked questions throughout the presentation as well.
Supervisor of Educational Initiatives Christine Casale Broski stated, “We hope that everyone who attended Nutrition Night found the event informative and enjoyable. Faiella had a wealth of knowledge to share with participants, and everyone had a great time making their healthy snack!”
Nutrition Night is part of the district’s Parent University program, which includes community education nights, parent teas, and other assembly-type programs. The program also includes virtual sessions that can be found on the district’s website (clarkschools.org) under Parent University as well as on the district’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
The next Parent University event is “Choices,” a presentation by Marc Mero, former WWE champion taking place in the ALJ Auditorium on April 25, 2018, at 7 p.m. For more details, visit the district’s website and social media pages.
