Please register for any programs through the online events calendar on our website at clarklibrary.org, in person, or by phone at 732-388-5999.

Sunday library hours are 1pm to 5pm.

The Library will be closed on Monday, October 14 for Columbus Day.

Baby Bookworms on Tuesdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 at 10am

Babies and toddlers are invited to listen to some books, and learn some songs, rhymes, lap bounces, and fingerplays. 30 minutes of open play follows. 

Patches & Stitches on Tuesdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 from 12pm to 2pm

Bring your quilt or other crafty project and visit with the members of the quilting club.

Barks & Books on Tuesday, October 1 between between 4 to 5 pm

If you have a young, reluctant or struggling reader, we want you to meet our therapy dogs!  They are non-judgmental listeners and furry friends to read to that won’t laugh if your child makes a mistake or stumbles over a word.  Registration is required. Children will each get approximately 15 minutes of reading time with Bubble or Magnolia.

Totally New Tuesdays on Tuesdays, October 1, 8, & 29 at 6:30pm

Enjoy a new movie for adults just released to DVD on our big screen. Please check our online calendar or visit the library to check the movies being shown.

Muscle Man Mike Rescue Heroes Show on Thursday, October 3 at 10:30am

Puppet Firefighter Sam finds it hard to get out of impossible situations. He tells the children a secret. He is no ordinary Firefighter. He has magic powers. The children say some magic words and POW!!  The magic begins. The children also learn about Firefighter Sam’s other rescue hero friends who help the community every day.  Firefighter Sam sings his favorite song, tells his story, and of course, we see some MAGIC.

Chess Club on Thursdays, October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 between 11am – 3pm

New members and all levels are welcome!

Thursday Afternoon Movies on Thursdays, October 3, 10, 17, &  24 at 1pm

Stories and More on Fridays, October 4, 11, 18 & 25  at 10am

Join us for stories, songs, and rhymes followed by a simple craft. This program is designed for children ages 3 and up. Registration is required.  

Tales for Tots on  Mondays, October 7, 21 & 28 at 9:45am OR at 10:30am

Stories and songs for active listeners. Geared toward ages 2-3 with a caregiver. 

Older children are welcome! 30 minutes of open play follows. Please register.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) on Monday, October 7 at 3:15pm

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) helps create, plan, and run teen programs and services they would like offered at the Clark Public Library. These programs and services may be for teens by teens, or they may be for other members of our library and larger community.TAB participants work directly with the librarians to develop ideas and bring them to life. TAB is open to all teens in Grades 6-12. Teens in neighboring towns are always welcome to join.

Krafty Kids on Wednesday, October 9 at 3:30pm 

Don’t forget to bring your imagination and creativity to our monthly craft activity!  Registration is required. Geared for elementary students.

Clark residents with library cards have priority registration.  All others will be on the pending waitlist until 48 hours before the event if space allows.

LEGO Master Builders on Thursday, October 10 at 6:30pm

Create your own LEGO®  structures to be displayed in the Children’s area of the library! LEGO® are provided by the library. For children entering grades K – 5.

Light snacks will be served.

Fresh Mozzarella Demonstration on Thursday, October 10 at 7pm

Join chef Salvatore Fioravante for an in-person demonstration on how to make delicious, fresh mozzarella. 

Bigfoot: In the Shadow of Big Red Eye on Tuesday, October 15 at 7pm

New Jersey Native Mike Familant shares his experiences researching and tracking down the truth behind North America’s most iconic cryptid, Bigfoot. Mike has been researching this amazing creature for over 13 years, and has captured some impressive evidence along the way. A Q&A session will be held after the presentation and Mike will be available afterwards for photographs and autographs.

Teen Craft Break: Pumpkin String Art on Wednesday, October 16 at 3:45pm

Teens are welcomed to take a break from studying to create a fun craft with us. We will be making pumpkin string art to help you decorate for fall. Crafts are open to teens in grades 6-12.

Little Scientist on Thursday, October 17 at 3:30pm

Learn how to build and create with our Science Experiments! Each session will be a different experiment that will touch upon a different STEM skill. Geared to Kindergarten – 5th graders.Clark residents with library cards have priority registration.  All others will be on the pending waitlist until 48 hours before the event if space allows.

Bat Show on Thursday, October 17 at 7pm

Come join the ‘Facts About Bat’s program to learn about basic bat biology, the 9 species found in New Jersey, threats bats face, common myths surrounding bats and what to do if you find a bat in your home! This will be a great opportunity to learn about these fascinating, yet misunderstood creatures.

Books & Bagels on Friday, October 18 at 11am

Enjoy bagels and coffee while we chat about books you have been reading and learn what others in your community are reading as well.

Needlework Club on Saturday, October 19 from 10am to 2pm

Are you interested in sharing your needlework craft or learning a new one? Needlework includes counted cross stitch, needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, etc. Come when you can and stay as long as you like. Bring what you are working on to sit, stitch, and chat with others who enjoy needlework! The club will meet one Saturday per month. If you have any questions, please drop by the meeting and someone will assist you. 

Martial Art Class with USA Karate and Fitness on Monday, October 21 at 3:15pm

USA Karate & Fitness will be hosting a free 30 minute kid’s martial arts class!

For ages 3 and up.  Please register.

Evening Book Club on Monday, October 21 at 7pm

Join us for our next evening book club meeting. We will be discussing “The Invited” by Jennifer McMahon. Please speak with a librarian or email librarians@clarklibrary.org if you need a copy of the book.

New Jersey Paranormal on Tuesday, October 22 at 7pm 

Join members of New Jersey Paranormal as they share their experiences as paranormal investigators. Learn about local legends and hauntings. A questions & answer period will follow the presentation.

Paint a Pumpkin on Wednesday, October 23 at 3:15pm OR Thursday, October 24 at 6:30pm *Please register for only 1 session

Join us for our annual Paint a Pumpkin event.  Listen to a story about pumpkins and then paint a pumpkin to take home with you.  This program is for ages 3 – grade 5.  Registration is required.  Please wear old clothes, as we will be working with paint. 

Priority registration for Clark residents with library cards.  All others will be on the pending waitlist until 48 hours before the event, if space remains.

Tinker Tots on Thursday, October 24 at 10:30am

Come join us for a morning of fun STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities perfect for little ones.  Play is station based.

For children ages 18 months through pre-k. Please register. 

Spooky Family Movie Matinee on Sunday, October 27 at 2:00 pm

Join us for a spooky movie and popcorn!  Three witches from the 17th century are conjured up in modern-day Salem and it’s up to Max and his friends to put a stop to the witches’ mischief and right the wrongs the witches created 300 years ago. Rated PG.

Halloween Magic Show on Monday, October 28 at 7pm

Get ready for a NON-SCARY show filled with Halloween TRICKS and TREATS!

Brian Richards’ Halloween Magic Show is filled with magic, comedy, juggling, puppets, and tons of audience participation!

Friends of the Clark Library Fundraisers:

Fall Book Sale and Costume Jewelry Sale on Saturday November 2 at the Clark Library. Book Sale hours are 10:00 – 3:00. Costume Jewelry Sale hours are 10:00 – 2:00. Hardcover,paperback, and children’s books will be available, along with DVD’s and music CD’s. Fill at tote for just $9.00 (does not include children’s books). Cash is

preferred, but credit cards are also accepted. No checks or Venmo.

The monthly costume jewelry sale will be held that day. All items are only $1.00.

Necklaces, rings, bracelets, watches, etc. Cash only for jewelry.

Precious Gem and Metal Purchasing Event at the Clark Library

Bring your unwanted gold and silver jewelry, coins, flatware, etc. to the Clark Library on November 2, from 10:00 – 3:00 and receive money for it! I.G.C.
