Summer Reading Registration: Sign up if you haven’t already done so! Kids, teens and adults can log their reading at clarklibrary.beanstack.org to win prizes!

Children registered for the summer reading challenge get a raffle ticket for display case prizes for attending children’s programs!

Note the following library schedule changes and closures:

The library will be closed on Sundays. Sunday hours will resume after Labor Day.

The library will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in honor of Independence Day.

Tales for Tots, Mondays, July 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 at 9:45am OR at 10:30am

Stories and songs for active listeners. Geared toward ages 2-3 with a caregiver.

Older children are welcome! 30 minutes of open play follows. Please register.

Muscle Man Mike’s Outer Space Magic Show on Monday, July 1 at 6:30pm

Join us for an out of this world magic show from Muscle Man Mike and his pal, Astronaut Annie!

Baby Bookworms on Tuesdays, July 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 at 10am

Babies and toddlers are invited to listen to some books, and learn some songs, rhymes, lap bounces, and fingerplays. 30 minutes of open play follows.

Patches and Stitches on Tuesdays, July 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 from 12pm – 2pm

Bring your quilt or other crafty project and visit with the members of the quilting club.

Adventures in Food Around the World for Kids on Tuesdays, July 2, 16 & 23 at 3pm

Join us in making some fun treats to eat focusing on different areas of the world!

At this session we will be making fruit rockets. Please be aware of any food allergies that may be present. Food labels will be available at the event.

Digital Literacy Tutoring on Tuesdays, July 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 at 6:30pm

Do you need help with your digital literacy skills? Join us for tutoring sessions on topics including Google Drive, Microsoft, Email, and resume help. Registration is required as sessions are limited to 4 students at a time.

Adventures in Crafting Around the World for Kids

Wednesdays, July 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 at 3pm

Adventure begins at the library this summer!  Join us for a weekly craft program for elementary aged children with a featured craft from regions of the world!

  • July 17 – Asia: Fire-breathing dragon and decorate a fan
  • July 24 – Australia: Aboriginal dot art

Beat the heat Friday afternoons while watching a family friendly movie and munching on popcorn! All movies will feature the Summer Reading theme of Adventure Begins at the Library by being set in a different continent or having an adventure!

Adventures in STEM Around the World for Kids on Tuesday, July 9 at 3pm

Join us as we take an adventure around the world working on STEM projects! This week we will visit Europe and make a leaning tower of Pisa and try to make other towers.

All Ages LEGO Master Builders – Landmarks on Thursday, July 11 at 6:30pm

Calling all Lego® Master Builders!  Join us for an all-ages building event.  To celebrate this year’s summer reading challenge, Adventure Begins at the Library, try your hand at building a world landmark to display this summer!

Maybe you can build the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, Burj Khalifa, or even a mini Grand Canyon? Show us your master building skills!

Martial Arts Class with USA Karate & Fitness on Monday, July 15 at 2:30pm

USA Karate & Fitness will be hosting a free 30 minute kid’s martial arts class!

Teen Gel Printing Program on Monday, July 15 at 2:00pm

The beats of Indian music and cool dance styles of India are fast becoming part of mainstream culture through its cinema. Join us to explore the unique relationship we as Americans share with India through our popular culture. So put on your favorite dancing shoes and get ready to move and groove Bollywood style!

Didgeridoo Down Under on Thursday, July 25 at 7pm

Join us on an epic adventure to the Land Down Under, where we’ll hear otherworldly sounds from the didgeridoo, we’ll explore the Great Barrier Reef and the Outback, we’ll learn about amazing creatures like kangaroos and koalas … and much more!

The Didgeridoo Down Under Show is an energetic fusion of Australian music, culture, comedy, character building, storytelling and audience participation. It’s interactive, educational, motivational and super fun for all ages!

Books & Bagels on Friday, July 26 at 11am

Enjoy bagels and coffee while we chat about books you have been reading and learn what others in your community are reading as well.

Kumpf Middle School Summer Reading Book Discussion on Tuesday, July 30 at 6:30pm

Join us to discuss the required summer reading title “Eleven” by Tom Rogers. Share your thoughts and questions about the book and learn what your classmates think as well.
