CITY LAUNCHES DESIGNATED WEBPAGE FOR INFO ON NJ TRANSIT SERVICE CHANGES DURING

The City of Summit has launched a designated webpage for updates and information on NJ Transit service changes during the Amtrak summer repairs from July 10 through September 1, 2017. The website content will provide Summit resident commuters with easy access to detailed information on service changes and developments, alternative transportation and cross-honoring options, as well as ticketing discounts.
Beginning on Monday, July 10, NJ Transit will divert nearly all weekday Midtown Direct trains into Hoboken except for three early morning trains #6602, #6604, and #6696 that arrive into New York Penn Station before 7AM.
There will be no Midtown Direct trains out of New York Penn Station in the evening. Commuters must access PATH train or NY Waterways ferry service into Hoboken during PM hours. On weekends, Midtown Direct trains will operate directly in and out of NY Penn Station. NJ Transit is offering Midtown Direct customers up to a 63 percent discount off regular NY fares with purchase of a Hoboken destination ticket for July and August. One-way, Round-trip, 10-trip and Reduced Fare tickets purchased with the discount will have expiration dates of September 1.
The City of Summit strongly advises commuters on all modes of transportation to sign up for City of Summit website alerts and to follow us on Facebook: (City of Summit) and Twitter (@CityofSummitNJ and @SummitNJParking).
Commuters can subscribe to NJ Transit alerts, follow NJ Transit on Twitter (@NJTRANSIT) and visit njtransit.com/theupdate for information and updates, or call 973-275-5555. The webpage is located on the City of Summit website at cityofsummit.org/commuterupdate.
