The Christ Child Society of Summit awarded scholarships to two Summit residents attending Summit High School. Scholarships were awarded to Jonathan Banks and Danielle Medina who each displayed academic achievement and worked or volunteered with children throughout their high school years.
The Christ Child Society Scholarship is awarded to students who live in Summit and/or attend Summit High School. Jonathan and Danielle were chosen from among thirty-seven applicants because of their dedication to succeed in school, their independent spirit and their work with children. Jonathan will be attending Rutgers University in the Fall with a major in Electrical & Computer Engineering. Danielle will be attending University of Delaware majoring in Early Childhood Education/Special Education. The Christ Child Society Scholarship is chaired by Maura Perier, and committee members include Jackie McCarthy – Browne, Leslie Drummond, Allison Lees and Bev Luehs.
The Christ Child Society of Summit is a nondenominational not-for-profit organization that provides aid and supplies to at-risk children in summit and the neighboring towns. For more information visit www.christchildsummit.org.
