Fourth Grade Bayberry students were provided with the unique opportunity to learn about the disabled population through the SEEDS (Student Education & Experience for Disability Sensitivity) Program. Amy Burns, a dynamic speaker and social worker talked to the 4th grade students at Bayberry in January to help us celebrate tolerance and diversity for differences.
The presentation included 3 types of disabilities; physical, developmental, and cognitive/learning as well as five interactive student challenges simulating physical impairments, visual impairments, developmental impairments, cognitive impairments, and learning impairments. The group discussion simulation activities, and question session, helped students increase their understanding and acceptance of others living with disabilities.
