CELEBRATE OKTOBERFEST IN KENILWORTH ON OCTOBER 29

On Sunday, October 29 (4-8 p.m.), the Kenilworth Historical Society will present “Oktoberfest,”a festive celebration featuring live German music, folk dancing and a delicious feast, at the Kenilworth Veterans Center (33 South 21st Street) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The fun-filled event will feature a dance performance by Bayern Verein Newark , a long-established club dedicated to the preservation of traditional German and Bavarian folk dances; live music for everyone’s dancing/listening pleasure played by Bernie’s Orchestra, a popular four-piece German-American band led by Bernie Bunger; and a catered buffet-style Oktoberfest Feast including such traditional favorites as knockwurst, bratwurst, herb roasted chicken, sauerkraut, glazed baby carrots, spaetzle, German potato salad, tossed salad, dessert and more!
Admission is $35. Advance reservations (by Oct. 20) are requested. The event seating plan accommodates eight to ten people per table. Early reservations are encouraged to avoid disappointment. Proceeds from Oktoberfest will benefit the Kenilworth Historical Society’s Oswald J. Nitschke House (c. 1880) “living history” museum and cultural arts center by helping defray the cost of an elevator that makes all levels of the recently restored site fully accessible to everyone.
