CASA Celebrates New Advocates
Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children of Essex County (CASA) proudly announces the addition of forty-two new advocates to the CASA family within the last fiscal year. Hailing from all walks of life and locations within New Jersey, these incredible individuals gave of their time to complete extensive screening and training that enables them to advocate for foster youth in Essex County. Having been officially sworn in at our Essex County Family Courthouse, our new advocates gathered proudly with family and friends in tow to celebrate their accomplishments along with CASA staff both at a courthouse reception and at our CASA Summer Block Party. New advocates mingled with seasoned advocates and staff as they munched on traditional Jersey boardwalk fare while watching their children and grandchildren play games. Currently, they have begun employing their new skills to ensure that their assigned foster youth receive the highest level of care during such a difficult transitional moment in life. Join us in congratulating them for such a wondrous accomplishment!
About:
CASA for Children of Essex County is a non-profit and tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization which promotes the welfare of children in foster care who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment by providing a safety net of support, advocacy, and mentorship. CASA trains and supervises community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of these children in court to ensure that each child has the opportunity to thrive by receiving needed services and assistance while helping to move the child toward a safe and permanent home as quickly as possible. Over 500 youth in Essex County are currently in foster care and in need of an advocate and ally such as yourself.
