To celebrate National Poetry Month in April The Maija Golden Creative Writing Foundation is once again looking to discover the best young poets from the Watchung Hills sending district during the month of April. The Maija Golden Poetry Rebel award will go to three children/young adults that stand out as poets. The contest is open to all Long Hill, Watchung, Warren and Green Brook residents between the ages 5 to 18 and the awards will be given to one student each from the elementary, middle school and high school level regardless of school attended. The annual award will consist of a Barnes & Nobles gift card and a specially designed diploma. Contributions will be displayed at the Long Hill Township library as well as published in the local paper following the April 30 deadline. Entries will be judged in early May, with the winners announced shortly thereafter.
