Kenilworth’s Troop 83 Scouts participated in the STEM project challenge at the NJ State Police Camporee on May 20th.
Of the estimated 10,000 participants, 23 Troops submitted STEM projects to the challenge and Troop 83 won the 2nd place prize, $100 gift card for the benefit of Troop 83. Congratulations to the team!
The title of the STEM project was: “Which Flashlight Battery Lasts the Longest.” The team built a device that automatically times how long a flashlight produces useful light powered by 3 AAA batteries. They used the device to test 6 brands of AAA batteries to determine which brand lasted the longest and which brand was most economical.
