Boy Scouts celebrate Scout Sunday every year, and this year it was held on February 28th at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church – our sponsor for the past 50 years. Two members from Warren Pack 182 joined us.
The “Scout Sunday” tradition was started to mark the founding of Boy Scouts in the US, and to show our appreciation for the support and commitment of our chartering organization. It makes people in houses of worship aware of Scouting, and allows Scouts to live out their “Duty to God” pledged each week. The Scout Law says that a “Scout is Reverent” and all Scouts promise to do their “Duty to God”. These values strengthen youth character in their family, community and faith.
