The Berkeley Heights Education Foundation (Ed Foundation) announced the funding of 16 grants awarded across all six Berkeley Heights Public schools. With a focus on science, technology and mindfulness, the BHEF awarded just over $28,000 in grants for the 2018-2019 school year. Highlights of awarded grants include: Google Expedition virtual reality headset kits and performances of “Anytown” spotlighting the opioid abuse and its impacts on teens and families at Governor Livingston and Columbia, a virtual foreign language immersion program at Columbia, numerous coding robots, a variety of science and math programs, as well as mindfulness initiatives at Mary Kay McMillin, Hughes, Woodruff, and Mountain Park schools,
In addition, The Ed Foundation is again funding the Reptile program for all first-grade students at Mary Kay McMillin School, and the Student Education and Experience Disability Sensitivity (SEEDS) program for students in fourth grade at the three elementary schools.
