“Back in Time” History Event

Union Township Historical Society members helped present “Back in Time,” a program sponsored by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from The Arc of Union County. The event was held in Masker’s Barn in the Deserted Village in Berkeley Heights on June 6.

David Arminio told the story of Rev. James Caldwell, the hero of the American Revolution; Barbara La Mort added details about James’s wife, Hannah; and Kathy provided an overview of some games that were popular during the colonial era. Then all three led the participants in playing hopscotch with a stone, pick-up sticks, and nine-pin bowling.
