ARTS GUILD NEW JERSEY IN RAHWAY TO CLOSE AFTER 17 YEARS

After seventeen years, Arts Guild New Jersey, a non-profit art gallery in the heart of downtown Rahway, will close its doors on September 1st, 2016.
Lawrence Cappiello, Founder and Executive Director of Arts Guild New Jersey, says, “It is with deep sadness that I must report that Arts Guild New Jersey is closed. We have just been notified that our lease for the property that has served as our Art Center for the past 18 years will not be renewed and we have been asked to vacate the building by the 1st of September.
It has been my distinct honor and pleasure to serve as Executive Director of the Arts Guild since 1997. I am extremely proud of the work we have been able to do in serving a wide regional audience with quality Arts Programs: Art Exhibitions, Art Classes for Adults and Children and other forms of Arts Education, Jazz concerts, classical music, Folk Music, Indie Films, Animations, Artists Networking and so much more.
I wish to express my sincere thanks to our Dedicated Trustees on the Guild Board for their drive, loyalty and hard work. I wish to offer thanks as well to Douglas Ferrari, my Assistant Director, Cyd Katz Seidel, our Administrative Assistant, our great Art Instructors whose skills, talent and teaching ability made our Art Classes as strong as they have been. And A Special Thank You to the literally Hundreds of exceptional Fine Artists who were featured in over 130 arts exhibits at the Guild since 1999.
And THANKS to YOU – The Many, Many visitors, patrons and supporters who we wished to serve through Quality Art Programs since 1999.”
All current programs at Arts Guild New Jersey are cancelled as of August 22nd, 2016.
The website www.agnj.org will stay online until the end of the year to continue their 2016 Artist of the Month program.
