As part of the 3rd grade curriculum for Language Arts/Social Studies Connection, students at Living Avenue School wrote friendly letters to relatives and friends. The children were very excited to choose someone special in their lives to write to. They were encouraged to write about their 3rd grade goals and what they expect to learn and experience in 3rd grade. Another goal was to expose the children to the community and how community workers help make our lives easier. On Friday, October 6th, the students, along with teachers Mrs. Denner and Mrs. D’Agostino, took a walk to a nearby maibox to mail their letters and were delighted to find a mail carrier there. Each student was able to hand their addressed envelope to the mail carrier.
