Adult Book Club
Monday, April 9 at 7 p.m.
We will be discussing Dry by Augusten Burroughs. You may not know it, but you’ve met Augusten Burroughs. You’ve seen him on the street, at restaurants, on the subway: a 20-something guy, nice suit, works in advertising. Ordinary. But when the ordinary person had two drinks, Augusten had 12; when the ordinary person went home at midnight, Augusten never went home at all. When Augusten lands in rehab, he is forced to examine himself and realizes when his 30 days are up, he will have to return to his Manhattan life and live it sober. What follows is a memoir that’s as moving as it is funny, as heartbreaking as it is real. Please speak with a librarian for information on obtaining a copy of the book.
