As the holidays began, Mrs. Winthers’s keyboarding students at Arthur L. Johnson High School prepared thank you letters to service members who are deployed during the holidays. Practicing their keystrokes and using formatting techniques learned, students were asked to compose a positive message thanking the service member for his or her service to our country which allows us to peacefully enjoy our freedoms at home.
According to Winthers, “each message was positive, which means a lot to someone far away from home in a challenging situation.”
The letters will be forwarded to The Military Support Group of New Jersey Inc., based in Stratford, NJ (TheMilitarySupportGroupOfNJ.com). The group will then forward the letters, along with other items such as care packages, to troops deployed in various places. The group also supports the families of service members.
