Alexander Christian earns Eagle Scout Rank
Green Brook BSA Troop 129
Alexander Christian earned his Eagle Scout Rank on April 6, 2023 with Green Brook Troop 129. Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America. Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process.
Alex’s scout experience has brought him to many different troops starting with Dunellen Troop 119 until it unfortunately folded. Alex continued on with Dunellen Troop 29 rather than quitting like others had. Eventually this Troop merged into Green Brook Troop 129 during Covid. Alex is grateful for the welcoming spirit of the Green Brook scouts and the opportunity to continue leadership and outdoor experiences including camping and hiking.
As a scout, Alex was able to assist multiple community groups such as Menlo Park Veterans Homes, Somerville Elks, and FISH.
The group Alex put most of his efforts towards was American Legion Post 119 in Dunellen. They were awarded with Alex’s dedication of service by dedicating his Eagle Scout project to renovating and painting the Legion’s lobby and hallway. Some of the proceeds he raised will also go towards new carpet for the stairs.
After Alex graduates from Dunellen High School this June, he will be looking towards furthering his education at a trade school focused on either plumbing or welding. He hopes to travel and visit all 50 states and will be visiting England this summer. Alex’s future plans include staying active in Boy Scouts, being a leader and staying faithful to his religion.
