The Linden School District’s Pre-School Handicap Students were invited to Buffalo Wild Wing’s for Lunch recently by Mayor Derek Armstead, Shawn McClain, the Associate Producer of Promise Land Park’s, The Mayor’s Youth Commission and The Linden Fire Department Locals 234 & 34.
Mayor Armstead said “As a community we need to make sure we are inclusive of all of our youth and make them all feel special and important.
Shawn McClain stated “I have done so much work with children over the years, but this year I am focusing on children with special needs.”
From 11:00am to 2:00am on September 17th anyone that came into Buffalo Wild Wing’s to eat, Buffalo Wild Wing’s donated 10% of the bill to The Mayor’s Youth Commission.
At 3:00pm the Pre-School Handicap Students that were invited were given a free meal and received a PGK Audio Smart Book. The books were donated by the Linden Fire Department Locals 234 and 34. The students also got to take pictures with the PG Kangaroo. Buffalo Wild Wing’s, Manager Rich T. added “That they were glad to help on a positive initiative such as this.”
In conclusion, we want to thank everyone who came out for the “Celebration of Children with Special Needs and adopting the Linden School District Pre-School Handicap Program.
