Cranford resident Giovanni D’onza was a contestant on Wheel of Fortune on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Giovanni won $66,500 in cash and prizes, including trips to Maui and Virginia.
Giovanni is an athletic trainer and a newlywed. Although he lives in New Jersey, Giovanni identifies himself as a New Yorker. He cheers for the Mets and Rangers, has run two New York City marathons, and volunteers for the Catholic Worker in Manhattan. Giovanni has been a Wheel Watcher ever since he started watching with his grandmother as a kid. He was selected to be a contestant after applying at WheelofFortune.com with a video submission and feels “fortunate” for the opportunity the same year as getting married and buying a house. “I am hoping that years of watching the show will pay off!” Giovanni exclaimed. He hopes to use his winnings toward building a future for him and his spouse.
