Students make Sandwiches for Rahway Food for Friends
The National Junior Honor Society at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School gave back to the community by making sandwiches and donating them to Rahway Food for Friends. The community service project was started by student Nico Cardoso and his family. The Cardosos accept sandwiches made by the NJHS members on Friday mornings and then distribute them to those in need. The Cardoso family planned on delivering sandwiches each week for the entire summer.
National Junior Honor Society Advisor Suzanne Hamilton stated, “This service activity is a great way for our students to give back to the community while still maintaining safe social distance. I’m very proud of Nico for taking initiative to start an ongoing summer project that will benefit those in need.”
