Healthy Brain, Healthy Life – Health & Wellness Seminar
It’s here! As promised, Councilwoman Miller will host a second seminar on brain health on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the North Plainfield Community Center.
Come learn what is normal aging and receive free memory screening on-site. The seminar will highlight the eight pillars that support brain health and reduce the risk of cognitive decline as you age. Specific strategies and activities to support brain health will be discussed.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about healthy brain aging can attend. You do not have to be a senior resident to participate.
This seminar will be held in partnership with the Cognitive and Research Center of New Jersey and the North Plainfield Seniors’ Group and. The guest speaker will be Dr. Michelle Papka, Ph.D.
Dr. Michelle Papka is the Director and Founder of The CRCNJ. She began her career at the University of Rochester Medical Center as the Neuropsychologist of an NIA-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Center. Dr. Papka has nearly 25 years’ combined experience as a researcher and clinician specializing in the field of aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia. She practices as a neuropsychologist, psychotherapist, and researcher, serving as the Principal Investigator on over 20 recent clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease, memory impairment, or mild cognitive impairment.
