Fanwood Fright Fest 5K & Little Monsters Fun Run
For the tenth year in a row, Fanwood Recreation hosts our community’s favorite running event—the Fanwood 5K and Family Fun Run! The race returns to La Grande Park on Sunday, October 20th, 2019. This year’s event will have a Halloween theme, beginning with the one-mile Little Monsters Fun Run at 9 a.m., followed by the Fright Fest 5K Run at 9:30 a.m.. Each runner is encouraged to dress up as their favorite scary monster. Face painters will be on site for those runners who wish to put on a scary face. Free refreshments will await all finishers.
Pre-registered runners who want to avoid the lines the morning of the 20th will be able to pick up their numbers and t-shirts the day before, from 5:30–7 p.m. at the La Grande Park building.
The entry fee for the 5K is $25, $20 for USATF members and $30 after October 17th. The entry fee for the Little Monster Fun Run is $10, which includes a race t-shirt, and $5 without a t-shirt. The race is fully sanctioned by the United States of America Track and Field (USATF) and is part of the New Jersey Grand Prix as a 500 point race.
All proceeds from the event go to the Fanwood Recreation Department, and will help to purchase new playground equipment, build new recreational facilities and expand recreational programs for local residents.
