Green Brook Student wins Healthy School Lunch Challenge
As part of Pomptonian Food Service’s Healthy School Lunch Challenge, students from many schools served by Pomptonian submitted recipes. First-grader Meher Badheka of the Irene Feldkirchner Elementary School in Green Brook won with her recipe for Chick Pea Wrap.
As a prize, Meher’s school won a vertical garden, and Chef Greg of Pomptonian prepared her recipe for all in the school to sample. Beginning in June, the Chick Pea Wrap will be added to the school’s menu rotation.
