Students at St. Patrick School in Chatham participated in various community service activities as part of National Catholic Schools. For example, Grades 1-5 did separate service projects to serve Garden Terrace Nursing Home in Chatham, including making door decorations and Valentine’s Day cards. The Kindergarten classes partnered with their buddies in Grade 8 to make food and hygiene bags for the homeless that will be distributed to Family Promise of Morris County, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the crisis of homelessness faced by Morris County families.
Additionally, Grades 6-8 made placemats for armed services veterans, while the Pre-K classes made various colorful drawings to give to the non-profit Color A Smile, which distributes cheerful drawings monthly to senior citizens, troops overseas, and anyone in need of a smile.
