Garwood’s Lincoln School elementary gifted and talented students, along with their advisor Mrs. Del Conte, have been brainstorming ways in which they can make a difference in eliminating the single use plastics that wind up in our waterways and threaten our wildlife.
As part of an ongoing project, they initiated a challenge to their school community during the week of January 14th to “Be a Part of the Solution, Not the Pollution.” Every member of the school community was urged to reduce or eliminate their use of single use plastic straws, bags, and bottles in an effort to raise awareness of how our daily habits ultimately affect our local waterways. The daily challenges were well accepted by the Lincoln School students and will continue.
