Several residents have reported they have received calls from the U.S. Social Security Administration, regarding their social security benefits. One resident reported the caller stated that there would be “disciplinary measures taken if she did not assist them.” This is a scam. The Social Security Administration never contacts anyone by phone. Do not give out your social security number or any other personal information. Hang up the phone.
If you receive a call from the Social Security Administration please contact the Fanwood Police Department at (908) 322-5000.
