November’s Volunteer of the Month is Oshanda Erb of Fanwood. She is a Air Force reservist who was Fanwood’s representative on the committee that created the Veterans Banners across Scotch Plains and Fanwood. Oshanda joined the Air Force at age 17 and became an integral asset to the Crisis Action Team at Maguire AFB established in response to the 9-11 attacks. As a reservist she was involved in many aspects of aircraft operations at Dover AFB and was deployed three times. She has received numerous accolades for her achievements, supporting her unit and volunteering many hours. Oshanda received the traditional token of appreciation from Mayor Colleen Mahr, a framed print of Fanwood’s historic train station.
