Women’s Entrepreneurial Information Session, Government Contracts
Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Presented by the Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship Corporation. Government contracts are a tremendous financial opportunity for small businesses and the U.S. government is the largest customer in the world. It buys all types of products and services in both large and small quantities, and it’s required by law to consider small businesses. This session will teach you what it takes to be an entrepreneur and some available resources for you. It also includes the basic requirements and types of government contracting. Class will be held at the Vauxhall Branch of the library at 123 Hilton Avenue in Vauxhall.
Social Media Marketing Workshop
Monday, November 19, 2018 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Presented by Kean University Small Business Development Center. This workshop is for small business owners in Union County who are actively or want to be more active in marketing their business on Facebook and Instagram. This is a three-hour intensive workshop. Bring your laptop and be ready to start creating an ad. Class will be held at the Vauxhall Branch of the library at 123 Hilton Avenue in Vauxhall.

Come learn about all the wonderful resources Union Public Library has for our local small business owners! John Daquino, Head of Adult Services, will go over databases such as Reference USA, Small Business Reference Center and Lynda.com, in addition to the library’s print holdings. Business Registration & Reporting Business Income / New Jersey Sales Tax & Online Businesses

Presented by NJ Division of Taxation. Looking to start a business in NJ or have questions about your existing business? NJ Division of Taxation will be onsite to answer all your questions and go over the following topics: different business structures, registering a business in New Jersey, how to report your New Jersey business income, taxable products and services, collecting and filing sales tax, and shipping products.
