Lego At The Library will be held on the following Fridays from 3:30 – 4:00 p.m. for children ages 4-12 years old: September 28 October 12 & 26 and November 9.
Children ages 4-9 years old must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Children will have an opportunity to build with Lego bricks.
Lego at the Library is made possible through a grant from the Walmart Local Giving program.
Bingo for Young Children ages 3 & up will be held on the following Fridays from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. for children ages 3 and up: October 5 and November 2.
Games may include A-B-C Bingo, Number Bingo and Color & Shape Bingo. Parents must remain in the library during the program.
Bingo for Children Who Can Read will be held on the following Friday from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. in the Activity Room: October 19.
Games may include USA Bingo, History Bingo and Kenilworth Bingo. Parents do not participate in this program.
NEW: Teen Advisory Committee will hold their first meeting on Thursday, September 27 at 3:30 – 4:15 p.m. Teens ages 13 – 18 years old are welcome to attend. This group will discuss possible programs, activities and volunteer opportunities at the library. Bring your friends, bring your ideas. Light refreshments will be served.
Special Events at The Library:
Applause Theater will visit the Kenilworth Public Library on Thursday, October 4 (6:30 – 7:00 p.m.) to entertain children age 4 & up and their families with musical theater songs including songs from Legally Blonde, The Sound of Music and Hairspray.
This program will be directed by Krystle Tomlinson.Registration is required.
Children who are registered for PJ Story Time will be invited to attend this program without additional registration.
Krystle Tomlinson, founded APPLAUSE Theater at age of fourteen. Krystle has grown up involved in Musical Theater, and wanted to use her training and love of the arts to get kids involved. Kids ranging from age six to sixteen can be seen in APPLAUSE productions, which include cabarets and musicals. APPLAUSE productions offers workshops with kids starring on Broadway, and this winter will be offering classes! Tomlinson hopes children and their families will come check out this preview show of: Legally Blonde, The Sound Of Music and Hairspray, A Musical Revue.
The Good Tymes String Band will be entertaining children ages 2 & up and their families at The Kenilworth Public Library on Wednesday, October 17 at 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Foot tapping, knee slapping banjo music & songs for families with children of all ages featuring Raymond Dreitlein, Pete Hauptman and Jay Leipzig.
Learn how to prepare a healthy after school snack to enjoy for Halloween. This workshop will be presented by dietitian Victoria Coglianese.Children ages 5 – 13 years old will have an opportunity to learn how to prepare a healthy snack especially created for Halloween.
Children ages 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate in this program.
Each participant will be able to enjoy their healthy snack at the conclusion of this workshop.
Registration is required.
Kenilworth residents may begin to register 1 week prior to this workshop. Out of town residents may begin to register 2 days prior to this workshop,
space permitting.
As a dietitian at the ShopRite of Garwood, Victoria Coglianese, RDN is available for free nutrition counseling, store tours, partnering with local community groups to provide nutrition programs, and being a resource to customers, employees, and the community on health and wellness issues.
