Hilltop, a private tennis court recently opened for the season at the club’s court on North Avenue in Fanwood, New Jersey. Located behind trees and evergreens, this shaded, secluded court is a very private, pleasantly cool environment for enjoying our great sport. Its Har-Tru, clay-like construction is known to be much easier on the lower joints, which means you can stay on the court longer and enjoy more of those great points.
Hilltop has been serving the tennis passions of Fanwood and nearby towns for over 100 years. The court was originally constructed of red clay c.1900 and owned by one family. In 1924 neighbors and friends officially formed the Hilltop Tennis Club. Today, the club owns and maintains the property as a non-profit organization.
The court is open until November. Court time is available seven days a week from sunup to sundown. Signup for court time is managed through an online website. The club’s activities include singles matches, men’s and women’s doubles, events for kids, clinics, meet-ups, and parties. It’s a special place for individuals and families to meet tennis people and to improve their game.
