Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market Announces Upcoming 2018 Season

The Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market (CBFM) launches the 2018 season on Saturday, June, 16 2018; announces new and returning vendors.
Celebrating its 12th season, the CBFM offers conventionally and organically grown Jersey Fresh fruits and vegetables, specialty foods and artisanal products. The market runs weekly on Saturdays, 8 a.m. -1 p.m., rain or shine, at Railroad Plaza off Fairmount Ave. from June 16 – November 17, 2018.
New vendors for 2018:
Green Nectar Juicery: 100% Organic Fruit and Vegetable Raw Juices
Anna Maria’s Foods: Fresh Vegetable, Herb and Fruit Jams, Sauces and Dips crafted in the Northern Italian Tradition
Stoneleigh Lavender: Fresh and Dried Lavender and Lavender Products
Hyssop Beauty Apothecary: Artisan Skincare made with Natural Ingredients
Pristine Soaps: Handmade Soaps and Bath Products using Plant and Essential Oils

“The Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market provides local, source verified, consumer confident food product to Chatham residents and neighboring communities,” states Janice Piccolo, Director of Community Services for Chatham Borough. “The market is a member of the New Jersey Council of Farmers and Communities, a nonprofit organization which supports Jersey Farmers, while providing the freshest possible produce grown in the Garden State, and strengthens our community.”
Also new this year, the CBFM is excited to offer a 100% Organic and GMO-Free Vegetable and Herb CSA (community supported agriculture) program through School Lunch Farm of Hackettstown, NJ (www.schoollunchfarm.com). CSA shares can be picked up at the market weekly from June-November. “The demand for organic and GMO-free produce has increased significantly since the market’s inception,” says Kara Sibilia, Chairperson for MyChathamNJ* – the volunteer organization that works in conjunction with Chatham Borough’s Community Services Department to promote the CBFM, among other community-focused programs. “Chatham residents are excited for this new offering.”

MyChathamNJ is a volunteer organization started in 2013 by a group of Chatham residents, business owners and employees. In conjunction with Chatham Borough’s Community Services Department, the group organizes community events including the Farmers’ Market, Fishawack Festival, Holiday White Lights, Spring Clean, Sustainability Fair and Veterans Memorial Day Service. The organization is currently seeking nonprofit status and a name change that clearly embodies its mission – Chatham Community Partnership: Fostering town beautification and economic growth.
