The Friends of the Cranford Public Library are pleased to present a performance by classical guitarist Robert Dopira on Wednesday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cranford Community Center, located at 220 Walnut Avenue, Cranford, New Jersey.
Mr. Dopira has been performing on classical guitar for libraries, schools, colleges, churches, and community groups for more than 25 years. He studied guitar with Ann Kotsarenko at Coombs College of Music, Temple, and Rutgers universities; and with Albert Valdes-Blain, a protégé of Segovia and international concert/recording artist at Mannes College of Music, New York City. He also studied with international concert clarinetist-composer John Russo. Mr. Dopira won a scholarship to the Rome Festival Orchestra in Italy to perform in their summer performance program. He teaches guitar and music classes in the Philadelphia area. Admission to the program is free and all are welcome.
