Have you heard of the Garwood Celebrations Committee? The Celebrations Committee is a small, welcoming group dedicated to organizing and running celebratory town events. Currently, the Committee needs volunteers to help plan and be on hand to assist at town-wide events. The events are fun and most include lots of happy children! If you haven’t heard of the Celebrations Committee, surely you have heard of the events that are run by the Committee:
- The Easter Egg Hunt
- Memorial Day Honoring of Veterans
- Movie Night Under the Stars
- Pumpkin Carving Contest
- Christmas Tree Lighting
- Halloween House Decorating Contest
- Holiday House Decorating Contest
Every third Wednesday of the month (excluding July and August) at 7:15 p.m., the Committee convenes at Garwood’s Borough Hall, 403 South Avenue, Garwood, New Jersey to plan for upcoming events and consider new ideas. These meetings typically are held to under an hour in duration.
Everyone is busy but helping out would only be a small piece of your time and well worth the while! Come out and help build community spirit. Give the Celebrations Committee a try by joining the next meeting.
